Echo Minott - Showcase - Jam Can - 1984

George Phang's Powerhouse label gave us some great reggae music in

1983. He's tried to establish a Powerhouse sound, and he's succeded.

Mainly by using Sly and Robbie as rhythm base, but also by

experimenting with percussion and mixing. The first album release from

Mr Phang comes from the little known Echo Minott. Echo as been called

a sing jay artist, but he sounds more conventional on this outing.

While also displaying some very strong songwriting skills. The best

example here being 'Tribulation'.
