Half Pint – Greetings – Powerhouse – 1987
Although fairly quiet for most of '87, 'Greetings' the LP (and single) for producer George Phang, is Half Pint 4th successful LP in terms of music and sales. He's now more than proved that he is a talented singer with a style all of his own, as well as being a truly intelligent writer of lyrics. The 'Greetings' LP opens with a spirited call for more unity and love – 'I can't stand what a gwan', its just war, hat and jealousy, taking over your mind, don't ignore or turn your back, it's clear to see, cause you're not blind.”
Half Pint – Victory – RAS – 1988
With 4-5 years in the reggae business Half Pint could considered to be a veteran amongest the many new names non on the scene. Yet he's still fresh, and the good news is that like a lot of things he's getting better as he's getting older. 'Victory' brings togher music produced by Mass U. George Phang and Sly & Robbi and the result is a victory as Half Pint vocally and lyrically is in great form. All the songs are originals – with a lot of good production work. This is the music at its very best.
Half Pint – One Big Family – Powerhouse – 1989
Towards the end of 1989, big George Phang's Powerhouse released this set. Sadly it is the man's most overlooked album to date, and the reason for that once again relates to the role in reggae music.
When a produce is hot in the music virtually anything he releases sells – despite its quality. When he starts to cool down – everything is in reverse. On this album though everything is red hot, and that included the rhythms, from Steely and Clevie, plus some great songs from Half Pint.
