Bunny Lion - Red – Starlght - 1979

The mystery behind Bunny Lions real persona is truly intruiging. Some claim that it is the producer Linval Thompson who is the only person to have worked with the somewhat unusually named deejay. This is likely due to the fact that the first single with Bunny was mistitled as performed by Linval himself. There are however no vocal similiarities at all between the two. The attentive will however notice that Bunny Lion actually refers to himself as Puddy Lion - which would lead one to believe it is the deejay-turn-singer Puddy Roots who prior his singing career was deejaying under the very name of Puddy Lion. The rhythms, as noted earlier, are by Linval and they are some of his greatest productions - several of them also appearing on other Linval-produced albums of the period such as Mystic Eyes, Ranking Dread and Linvals solo material. This album being one of the more notable. A lot owed to the hard rhythms but equal as much it owes to the excellent chatting of the one
