Alric Forbes - World Pride - I& I Pride - 1992
With connections to Yabby U and the Gladiators - Alric was part of the roots movement
That was a big part of what reggae music was all about in the seventies. It't taken him a long long time to get a debut album out - one of his first singles came out in 1975 'Uncle Joe's Donkey' but like they say a 'A Patience Man Rides Donkey' or better still 'Nothing Ever Happens Before It's Time' The sound of this album picks up on the more rootical sounds of The Gladiators and even Israel Vibration. Every song is a message song as such - it's exactly what you would expect from someone from that era. Vocally it's also got touches of the Gladiators and I Vibes. Production was done at Channel One in Jamaica - with mixing at Ironwood Studios - probably in the US.
