Seymour Henry (AKA Ras Order)
Seymour AKA Ras Order, you will be sadly missed but I know you would tell us
“don’t be sad but be happy that I’m now in Zion”.
Ras Order was a real humble person who liked to help others, in the time that I knew him he devoted much of his time to Reggae music which was his love, he was a real Rootsman.
I met Ras Order almost 20yrs ago back in the days when youtube didn’t have a lot of reggae on it, I was a fellow reggae film collector like him and back then people like myself and Seymour found it very important to see the old reggae videos preserved, especially those with reggae artists and musicians, these videos were hard to find(unlike today) and most of the roots reggae artists had no video footage of them available so Seymour had been recording and preserving what material there was taping on VHS and collecting from various sources.
The moving images of these singers and musicians who we’d never seen on film before was very important to him, he knew that one day years from now people would want be able to look back, search their names and see the people who created this music, the job he was doing was an important one.
I was always amazed at the material he would put up, his youtube channel stood out, he was one of the first people archiving reggae videos on youtube when it started up.
Seymour created a unique online video archive for people to enjoy with over “40 Million” views to date of his reggae videos which is a huge number of people who have got to enjoy and learn from what he shared with others.

So that’s how I met Seymour through the video thing, we traded for years and became good friends, we shared a lot in common and he taught me a lot over the years and happily shared his own cultural experiences with me which was invaluable to me, he would never fail to call me up, he always had time for me and others.
Seymour was a Reggae Historian+Archivist and would happily teach anyone he came into contact with about Reggae and Rastafari and he wanted to help preserve this culture.
Seymour was a conscious soul, a humble lion living in Babylon, he knew that one bright morning when his work was over he would fly away home.

It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to my dear friend Seymour aka Rasorder over 20 years. Your sudden passing has left a void that words cannot fill. You were more than a friend; you were family—a soul who brought light and joy to everyone around you.
Your love for music / sound system tape + formula one was a testament to your vibrant spirit. It seemed like every note; every melody reflected a piece of your heart. Whether you were listening, or simply sharing your passion, music was your way of spreading love and unity.
Though you are no longer here with us, I will forever cherish the countless memories we shared, the laughter, and the lessons you taught me about embracing life with an open heart.
Rest peacefully, my friend Seymour May the music of your soul echo in the heavens, as it will forever in our lives. You are deeply loved and missed.
