Chakademus & Pliers - Tease Me - Mango - 1993
I would think this set hold the reggae record for the most hits singles taken from one album. ‘Bam Bam’ , ‘Murder She Wrote’, ‘Tease Me’ and ‘She Don’t Let Nobody’ are some of the biggest pop/reggae hits ever. Very quickly they made Chakademus & Pliers the most well known reggae act to a pop audience. Well apart from Bob Marley. Yet this Sly & Robbie production still lacks something, despite the hits. In places it’s just too soft. Listen to the first cut of ‘Tracy’ produced by Winston Riley and called ‘Up The Road’. Sly and Robbie have just recut it faster, not really added anything to it. If they had with Chakademus in great form, it could have been a bigger hit than the rest of the put together.
