Akabu
Akabu - Akabu - Viva Records - 1988
With reggae music being mostly a studio based music, bands - were
always going to have an hard time breaking through. Those that did
usually always ended up in a compromise. An all-woman reggae band then
would have an even harder job, and if they did break through the
compromise would probably be greater. This however is not the case
with Akabu. They set out to make roots reggae music, and this is what
they have created on their debut album. A fine set of songs are placed
over well arranged and produced rhythms.
