Terry Linen - Give Thanks And Praise -

Came up around the same time as the great late Garnett Silk - but no

sooner had Garnett passed - then Mr Linen seemed to dropped off the

radar. But perhaps the recent success of Ras Shiloh as encouraged

people to check out Mr Linen again. His first album back in the

mid-ninties was all over the place including some latin type tracks.

This set is a great one its got some great roots and culture tunes -

plus a few love songs - and covers - but it all works very well. His

voice is just as good as back then it even sounds better in places.

Production wise its a mixture of traditional reggae rhythms and some

dance-hall rhythms. Terry's not really part of the latest roots

movement - but he's got something to offer - and that's all he needs

to do.
