Over the years - and it’s a long time in the case of Derrick Harriott. This man as always gone for the more smoother side of the music, be it ska, rock steady and reggae and on to the present.

Yet for roughness - this set is on par with the Upsetters. From crazy intros - to just the rawness of the rhythms.

The real surprise on this album is a reggae cut to ’Lady Madonna’ - even Fats Domino had trouble putting some life into that tune.

The Crystalites rip into it with glee.

This CD in fact the first 12 tracks of the ’Undertaker’ set released by Trojan During the reggae era.

The bonus tracks really are a bonus. ’Sic Him Rover’ is all time classic. The census taker, who got took! ’Tonight’ is a great tune - instrumental version.

Its baffling that Derrick’s bit hit ‘Groovy Situation’ is not included in instrumental form. It was such a big hit.

But there is enough on this set to keep fans of Derrick and instrumental reggae very happy!!!
