Album no 6 from Anthony Cruz - a remarkable singer/songwriter with heavy duty connections to Garnett Silk and his brother Aaron Silk. And it doesn't stop there. The vocals are clearly come from the style of the much loved and much missed Garnett Silk. And so is the love of new songs sung over old rhythms. And finally after many many years - the dance hall rhythm recuts are getting the treatment listen out for the 'Shine Eye Gal'/'Jah Shakey' rhythm here called 'Know Him For Yourself' It takes a fair bit of talent to come anywhere near to matching Barrington Levy's cut of that rhythm, but Anthony Cruz pulls it off and in fine style. Like so many albums today - it's a muli-producer work. Yet even that is nothing new - artists like Sugar Minott would be pulling together tracks from all over to make great works. What counts is if they work - and this one truly does.
