Jah Batta
Besides Charlie Chaplin's great albums, Jamaica's DJ's kept a low
profile in 1984. It was the international scene that produced the more
interesting improvements. DJ's like Silver Fox & Brother D, and Sister
Carol and Jah Batta who is among those talented DJ's with varied
personal styles and ideas. Batta has been close to the Bronx based
Wackie's posse a long time now. On this his well worked debut album,
the Wackies's spirit flows well. Stylistically he follows his Ja
counterparts, Brigadier Jerry in particular. Well pleased to finally
see it on CD, it seems incredible to think this set came out twenty
years ago!!!! It was a classic then, and its even more so today

Jah Batta - What We Need Is Love - Plush 7"
Batta's switch from a deejay to a vocalist - was a brave move - but
he's stuck with it and this is one of his best tunes for a long time.
Another joint Clive Hunt & Lloyd Barnes production.
