Earl Cunningham
Earl Cunningham - John Tom - Time
Dennis Brown's DEB label introduced us to Earl Cunningham in the early
eighties. Since then Earl as only made a few appearances on plastic.
So it's great to see the talented Jah Screw get Earl, back into the
studio, to make this excellent album. Eight really good songs voiced
over some very strong TIME rhythms, as well as vintage Sharpe Axe
cuts, that come form early Jah Screw and Ranking Joe co-productions.
Earl's voice is original enough, no obvious influencees - like so many
artists all he needs is an hit.
