Undivided - The Original Undivided – Mango
By the mid-seventies with the arrival of bands like Aswad, Matumbi and the final emergence of the Cimarrons the argument changed to "Do UK Reggae bands want to just copy the sound of Jamaica?", which always seemed to me like another question. But by then the question had been answered by a group of mainly North London musicians called The Undivided, who were then providing artists like Alton Ellis, Dennis Alcapone and Roy Shirley with a great Reggae sound. Sadly they never got around to putting their talents onto vinyl (properly) But now you can listen to probably the best Reggae (soundwise) in the UK. Eight tracks all instrumentals - great music, no problems. A long overdue set.
