"General Pecus - Back With A Vengeance - World Records - 1995
Super Morris’s London based World Records as a very good record working with singers. Gregory, Dennis, Sugar and Sanchez have all
cut albums with him in recent years. Regarding DJ’s - General Pecus must be one of the first to record an ablum with the man. Super,
comes up with a diverse selection of rhythms. Perhaps sensing that rhythms do not really make that much difference with this kind of
DJ. Pecus duly goes into them with non stop lyrics. Yet the best track works because the rhythm is interesting. ‘Madhouse’ which goes
to prove once again you can’t win a horse race riding a donkey."
"General Pecus - Talk Bout Gun But - Greensleeves - 1993
Listening to General Pecus for the first time, somehow reminded me of the fast style DJ’s of the UK, in the mid eighties. The fast style
didn’t need a rhythm to work, but the problem that the fast style DJ’s ran into at 250 mph, was that reggae fans actually do like to
hear a DJ riding a rhythm. It makes the experience more enjoyable. This is another Junjo 90’s production, that lacks any of the style
that made the man famous. Only the powerful ‘Say No To Drugs’ with Jack Radics gives off any of the vibes of the 80’s productions. Still I’m confident that producer DJ will come again."
