Myrie and Marshall - Waterhouse Revisited - Hightone Records
Errol 'Myrie' Lewis and Errol Marshall hit really big with Half Pint. 'Winsome' released on Myrie and Marshall's Sunset label opened up all kind of doors the young producers.
They even produced the best album with Half Pint 'In Fine Style' if it had been the first album from the singer - it would have done the business - but it came out after the album produced by King Jammy.
For Jammy it was the break they he had been looking for and fully deserved - and he took it ran. Within a year or so - he became the top producer on the island.
I don't think Half Pint ever made any more music for Jammy - yet the 'Money Man Skank' LP truly set up Jammy.
For Myrie and Marshall - they carried on making great music which of course was all released on Sunset.
This album and a Part 2. Essentially brings all that great music together.
Half Pint is here, and so are Sugar Minott, Frankie Jones, Pad Anthony, Tonto Irie, John Wayne, King Everall and Michael Palmer, Junior Reid.
Mainly recorded at Harry J - the young producers got a different sound - one that producer George Phang had a great deal of success with a little later in the era.
