Lord Tanamo born Joseph Gordon, worked with all of the greats of the early producing scene. Dada Tauri, Stanley Motto, Ken Khouri, Lindon Pottinger. It took him a little while to get around to working with Duke Reid and Coxsone.

Unlike so many of the ska artists - who had firm roots in Swing, R&B. Tanamo came from the Mento root - a country artist like Justin Hinds.
