Larry Lawrence/Ethnic - Meets The Wailers - Ethnic Fight
Larry did such a great job distributing his records - its baffling to me where this was during the time of its release.
Can only guess that he had must have had problems keeping it in press - for it must have
been a very good seller.
A great line up of artists Dave Collins, Barrington Spence, Sydney Rogers. Plus people like Jackie Paris and The Chosen Few.
While the biggest plus on this album are the two tracks for the then emerging Junior Delgado - the two tracks here ‘Really For A Reason’ and ‘Reaction’ are on par with ‘Tiction’
Which was a massive hit for Junior around this time.
Jux always did well on the roughest of rhythms and the Wailers really knew how to build rough and tough rhythms.
Yet all the tracks work here so well, be they be militant tune like that from Jux. Or the standards like ‘Tears On My Pillow’ or the Chosen Few’s ‘Chain Gang’.
Dave Collins also throws in one of early rap/DJ tunes in the form of ‘The People Band Wagon’
A truly fantastic set.
