Tito Simon – This Monday Morning Feeling – Trojan.
By about 1973 – it was clear that the pop/reggae sound was finished. Dandy and Nicky Thomas two of its most successful exponents at Trojan Records – no longer had the appeal to this very mixed audience.
Others were coming along though – John Holt was one – but more in tune to what pop/reggae was all about was Tito Simon. Tito had once been the other half of a singing duo with Dandy.
Yet it wasn't until he linked up with Clancy Eccles that things started to happen for the man.
Trojan put him on the Horse label – and released a number of high quality singles all produced by Clancy. 'Build It Up' 'You Can Be Seriious' 'Easy Come, Easy Go', 'Count The Hours' all of them should have been hits, but nothing happened.
Then Tito started to produce himself. And with 'This Monday Morning Feeling' the big hit the man fully deserved happened. It even went into the Top 50 pop chart if I recall. This set gathers up all the misses that should have been hits and more!!!
