Don T – Professional Girls Man – Big Beat - 1995
Big Beat – Atlantic's Records – reggae and dancehall label – certainly had some 'Big' ideas for reggae music at the start of this decade. Little is known of Don T – although what can be said is that's got a deejaying style that is a mix of Buju Banton and Zebra. What is happening on this set is that that deep ruff and gruff voice is being applied to not only reggae rhythms – but strange mixes of reggae and r&b. A reggae bass line with R&B drum styles or a R&B bassline with a reggae drum style. It takes a while to get used to it. But it does work in places – very interesting."
