The early to mid eighties is now oh so popular with a lot of

companies. Makkasound the French revival label - have had the good

idea of searching around for some of the stuff that never made it out

the first time. Linval Thompson with a little help from Junjo is the

basis of this set. This a great DJ set from all the supers of the

time. Fans of the DJ style of that time will be pleased to know that

nearly all the styles are represented. Briggy, Demus, Ranking Joe,

U.Brown, Sinbad, Toyan, Lee Van Cliff, Billy Boyo (With Little John),

Yellowman and Fathead, even Trinity gets a look in. My favourite

tracks are the ones from Briggy, simply because I have never heard

them before! Demus his old sparring partner on Jack Ruby sound - also

sounds very good. A truly great selection. Deejay music at its very

best.
