Im And David – Money Maker – Studio One.

Cedric 'Im' Brooks and David Madden represented the next wave of hornsman to come into Studio One during the late sixties early seventies.

Tommy and Roland – and the rest had done more than enough at the Studio, and had nothing to prove.

When it comes down to it, neither did Cedric Brooks and David Madden!!!

Yet what this album represents is a new combination – a new sound. It is of course a very long time ago now.

And trying to work out what was in Coxsone's mind at the time is very difficult.

By then the Soull Defenders were the main band at Studio One. And are present here and there on this album.

They had a tremendous amount of success with singers like Burning Spear,Freddy McKay and Larry Marshall – and should have been the backbone of the Studio for many years to come.

And yet like Cedric and David - they wasn't. Still this set is a great work. And shows what a great sax player Cedric was – and when it comes to the trumpet David is second to none!
