One of the sadder aspects of the domination of the specials based sound systems like Stone Love, is that from the early 90’s there was a total absense of dj’s on their sets. Yes it was possible to hear them occassionally, but for the most part they were confined to singing or deejaying the praises on specials of this or that sound system. The effect of the was that an whole group of dj’s were not heard on sound systems before making their debut singles and albums. Thankfully this is slowly changing back, but it means that the lyrical and style inspirations of Terror Fabulous, cannot be fully comprehened. He’s got a gruff style and this set for John John & King Jammy is well up to the mark, but it would be nice to know more about his dj history.
