Jah Woosh ・Psalms Of Wisdom ・Black Wax
When reggae music was selling like never before and never since ・very few artists can claim to have too have had two number one albums!! Jah Woosh can make such a claim ・and this set produced by the Ja Man team of Hollet and Swaby isn't even one of them ・but it truly should be. Its got the magic and wildness needed to make a truly classic DJ LP・heavy and slow rhythms ・featuring on vocals Junior Byles, Rupert Reid ・but its Jah Woosh style that makes this album so good. Riding the rhythms with ease ・and then just throwing some comments the flair that all the good DJ's have ・but which some have more than others.
Jah Woosh ・Gathering Israel ・Dread & Dread
Great rhythms can cause problems to deejays ・and this set as got some real classics ・Yabby U rhythms can be found here ・and it's not often that happens. As the title suggests ・it's themes and topics concerned themselves with Rasta and Africa. Once again not the easiest of themes to work with ・without becoming very predictable ・but the tone and style of Jah Woosh in fine style ・just works so well. Just like Big Youth or I Roy its the conviction in the voice that makes these tunes and of course some great rhythms.
Jah Woosh ・Lick Him With A Dustbin ・K&B
In one of the many riots that took place in the UK during the seventies ・one of the most famous scenes is of a black youth ・taking on a number of Policeman with a dustbin. Someone had to make a comment on this ・and so it fell to Jah Woosh. In the true spirit of deejaying ・Jah Woosh gathers up all his wit and lets rip! Its another great set by him. Using more rockers style rhythms ・but still full of roots and culture. This was yet another very successful album for the man as well. If it wasn't another number one it was close!
