For the Beef:
500g (1 lb) lean beef (such as flank or sirloin), thinly sliced
2 tablespoons cornflour (cornstarch)
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper, to taste
Vegetable oil, for frying
For the Sauce:
2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon finely grated ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
For Serving:
2 cups cooked jasmine rice
2 spring onions (green onions), sliced
Sesame seeds, for garnish
Directions:
Prepare the Beef: In a bowl, combine the cornflour, all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper. Add the thinly sliced beef and toss to coat evenly.
Fry the Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Fry the coated beef strips in batches until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
