This Cream Cheese Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread from My Skinny Recipes (adapted from Recipe Critic) transforms ripe bananas into an indulgent loaf layered with a sweet cinnamon swirl, crunchy walnuts, and a creamy cheesecake‑like center. Baked to moist perfection, each slice offers a deluxe twist on classic banana bread.
3 over‑ripe bananas, mashed
⅓ cup melted butter
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg, beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
1½ cups all‑purpose flour
½ cup chopped walnuts
Cinnamon swirl:
⅓ cup granulated sugar
1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
Cream cheese center:
Preheat oven to 350 °F. Grease a 9×5‑inch loaf pan.
Mix banana, melted butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, salt, and flour until just combined. Fold in walnuts.
Separately, mix cinnamon swirl ingredients (sugar + cinnamon).
In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and egg until smooth.
Layer half the banana batter into the pan; sprinkle over about half the cinnamon swirl.
Spread the cream cheese filling on top, then top with remaining banana batter. Finish with the remaining cinnamon swirl.
Bake 50–60 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool before slicing.
