For the Dough:
4 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup granulated sugar
2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
1 cup warm milk
2 large eggs
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
½ teaspoon salt
For the Filling:
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
½ cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
For the Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Note: For a dairy-free version, substitute milk and butter with almond milk and coconut oil.
Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
Add eggs, melted butter, and salt to the mixture. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Prepare the Filling:
In a medium bowl, combine cherry pie filling, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix until well combined.
Assemble the Rolls:
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 16×12 inches).
Spread softened butter over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Evenly spread the cherry filling mixture over the buttered dough.
Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seam to seal.
Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 12 equal slices. Place the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, cut side up.
Cover the dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for an additional 30 minutes.
Bake the Rolls:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Allow them to cool for a few minutes.
Prepare the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Serve:
Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls before serving.
