The watchman in Ezekiel 33 was to warn of the coming sword. How is this relevant for today? Before getting into that lets look at what the watchman was to do.

Ezekiel 33:1-3 And there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, `Son of man, speak unto the sons of your people, and you have said unto them: A land--when I bring in against it a sword, And the people of the land have taken one man out of their borders, And made him to them for a watchman." And he has seen the sword coming against the land, And has blown with a trumpet, and has warned the people,

The watchman was to warn the people of the sword coming against them.

Ezekiel 33:4-5 And the hearer has heard the voice of the trumpet, and he has not taken

warning, And come in does the sword, and takes him away, His blood is on his head." The voice of the trumpet he heard, And he has not taken warning, his blood is on him, And he who took warning his soul has delivered."

The hearer who does not take the warning, the sword does come and takes him away. However the one who took the warning his soul has delivered.

Ezekiel 33:6 And the watchman, when he sees the sword coming in, And he has not blown with a trumpet, And the people has not been warned, And come in does a sword, And takes away of them--a soul, He in his iniquity is taken away, And his blood from the hand of the watchman I require."

If the watchman did not blow the trumpet then he too would be taken away.

Ezekiel 33:7 And you, son of man, A watchman I gave you to the house of Israel, And you have heard from My mouth a word, And you have warned them from Me."

The watchman was Ezekiel himself, who was given to the house of Israel, and he did warn them.

Ezekiel 33:8-9 In My saying to the wicked, O wicked one--you do surely die, And you have not spoken to warn the wicked from his way, He--the wicked--in his iniquity does die, And his blood from your hand I require." And you, when you have warned the wicked of his way, to turn back from it, And he has not turned back from his way, He in his iniquity does die, And you your soul have delivered."

The watchman who does not warn, his blood would be required. If he does warn then his soul have delivered.

Well for about two years now I have been walking past this letter box that had the reference Ezekiel 33 on it. I usually go past about once a month, I do not know how many times I have noticed over the period the reference or how many times I have gone past the box. Anyway over the period I have not really study this reference. Last night and today I studied the reference. The meaning came to me today.

How is this relevant for today? Today there is also a watchman and he is to warn the people of the coming sword. The question then is, who is the watchman and who is the coming sword?

The watchman is not one individual person this time. It does not have to refer to a single person. This time the watchman is the chosen, the body of Christ. That is the members of the body of Christ are the watchman. Who then are the chosen to warn?

The chosen are to warn the nations, of the coming sword. The nations are the people the chosen will rule over in the coming kingdom. Even now spiritually the chosen are ruling with Christ. Not physically ruling with him, but spiritually ruling with him.

The coming sword is Christ.

Christ compared His return to the flood of Noah:

Matthew 24:36-39 Now, concerning that day and hour no one is aware, neither the messengers of the heavens, nor the Son; except the Father only." For even as the days of Noah, thus shall be the presence of the Son of Mankind." For as they were in those days before the deluge, masticating {chewing} and drinking and marrying and taking in marriage until the day on which Noah entered into the ark, and did not know till the deluge came and takes them all away, thus shall be the presence of the Son of Mankind."

In Noah’s day the flood came and took them all away, that is all those who were not on the ark. All the rest of the people of the world at the time, who were not on the ark, were all killed by the flood waters. Thus that is what it will be like when Christ returns.

When Christ comes those who have heard the trumpet and not taken the warning will be taken away. Those who take the warning they will have salvation. The trumpet will be the chosen warning the nations of Christ’s return. Christ will come and the chosen will be snatch away, protected in their spiritual ark.

Now I said I had been walking past for about two years, and as I noted in a earlier Journal entity, the Open Door ministry had been delayed by two years. It seems this revelation to me about the watchman, has also been delayed by two years, however now that the two year delay to the Open Door Ministry is almost over {9 September 2010} it has now been revealed.

During the time then of the upcoming Open Door ministry, the chosen will be the watchman warning the nations of Christ’s return. Along with spreading the gospel of the kingdom.
