Christchurch Cathedral Rose Window

18 June 2011

By Mark Farquharson

There were two large earthquakes on the 13 June 2011, NZ time. The first one was 5.7, which was at 1 pm, the second one was a 6.3 at 2.20 pm.

This appears to me to be another Judgement against the church. The Christchurch Cathedral suffered further damage, this time the famed Rose window was destroyed. This window over resent years had come to personify the Cathedral’s life and presence, according to the Cathedral’s own website. Thus there was a judgement against this life and presence. The life and presence of the church is to do with it’s actions, values and it’s message. Judgement was against these things because they are wrong on these things. Promotion of the incorrect message about who is saved.

The presence is probably felt most by those who attained services there. Those were the ones that were getting the wrong message about God and Jesus. Of course they actually still do, because while the building is out of action for the foreseeable future, you can still hold services.

However I do not believe this was the judgement that was indicate to me by going to Chapel 2. Thus the judgement indicated to me is still to come in the future. It could be the final judgement or some other judgement.
