Shalom, dear all!
Thank you for faithfully praying for us. We started the class in the office with only one industrial sewing machine but we have been so grateful that we don’t have to spend our class time fixing the sewing machine. (We used to have four hand paddle machines and spent most of the class time repairing them.) The students finished the first project in two afternoons. Being excited, they look forward to learning more and more sewing skills. For this term, we won’t try to catch up with making wearing, but get the women familiar with operating the industrial machines. Douglas has set up the three new machines plus electrical cables, the air conditioner, lights. We will move our class over soon. Now, we are released from being worried that the machines could be damaged in such high humidity in Ambunti. And we won’t extend the sewing classroom until we come back to Ambunti in the end of the year.

感謝您忠心為我們禱告。我們在辦公室僅就一台工業縫紉機開始上課，但我們非常感恩，因為我們不必花費上課時間修理縫紉機。 （我們以前有四台手搖式縫紉機，上課大部分時間都花在修理機器。）學生們花了兩個下午的時間就完成了第一個作品。大家十分興奮，期待學習多而又多的縫紉技術。這一期，我們不急著學做衣服，而是讓婦女們在我下個月離開安布恩提之前快點熟練操作工業型縫紉機。道格拉斯已經安裝好三台新縫紉機以及電源線、空調和燈。我們很快就要搬過去上課了。現在，我們不再擔心機器會在安布恩提如此高的濕度下損壞。等我們年底回安布恩提時，才會拓寬教室。
It’s good that we started the class last week as there are many church activities and the census in going on.
幸好我們上個星期開始上課，這個星期教會有很多活動，而且又有戶口普查。
Two of the women in the sewing class, Beverlyn and Jennifer, are attending a five-day-long training course of message attending in a village 8 hours away on foot. During the past 1 and a half years, two of them have been working hard in conducting Dorcas Fellowship in the church. I am so happy that they are now willing to be equipped for preaching God’s word and courageous to be used by God in this way.
縫紉班的兩名婦女貝弗琳和珍妮佛正在8小時腳程外的一個村莊參加為期五天的講道訓練課程。過去一年半以來，她們兩人一直在教會努力開辦多加團契。我很高興她們現在願意受裝備傳講神的話，並且有勇氣在這方面被神使用。
Last Friday, enjoying sewing very much, Jennifer was thinking about not going to the training course. Not only because of the long journey and class fee, but also she wished not to stop sewing. It took me a bit of persuading to talk her into not give up the training course. This training course might not take place again in the remote area. And it is almost impossible for women of the remote area to go for a training course in the town. She would regret it if she gave up the training because of enjoying sewing.
上週五，珍妮弗做縫紉做得很陶醉，正在考慮不去參加培訓課程。不僅因為路途遙遠、學費昂貴，她也捨不得停止做縫紉。我花了一番工夫才說服她不要放棄訓練課程。偏遠地區可能不會再舉辦這樣的培訓課程。而且，在偏鄉的婦女若要到城市參加訓練課程，幾乎是不可能的事。如果因為享受縫紉而放棄訓練的機會，她會後悔的。
Does this also mention you of the story of Jesus, Martha, and Mary? Well, it does make me go back to the scripture and think about some key points: distraction, anxious, troubled, necessary, choice, good portion… Are we focusing on what will not be taken away?

3. May God be in charge of the issue of the land ownership of Ambunti high school.
願上帝在安布恩提中學土地所有權的議題中掌權。
4. Due to the new banking policy of PNG, it has been taking long hours in banking work each week for PIM staff to transfer the funds and to withdraw in order to keep the ministries going. May God rule over the banking issue.
由於新幾內亞新的銀行政策，PIM工作人員每週都要花很長時間在銀行處理資金的匯存及提領，才得以維持事工的運作。願上帝在銀行事務的難題中掌權。
5. With multi-duties, Douglas works day and night. May God grant he good health.
道格拉斯身兼眾多職務。願上帝賞賜給他健康的身體。
6. May God grant Douglas wisdom and strength in facilitating the sewing resource center.
願上帝在建置縫紉資源中心事上，賞賜道格拉斯智慧與力量。
7. May God grant us His divine guidance in purchasing the generator for South Sea Evangelical Church in Ambunti.
願上帝在我們為安布恩提南海福音教會購買發電機的事上，指引我們。
8. May God bless our present sewing class.
願上帝保守我們本期的縫紉課程。
9. May God bless Beverlyn and Jennifer with wisdom in learning at the message delivering training and safe journey back to Ambunti.
願上帝賞賜貝芙琳及珍妮芙智慧在講員訓練中好好學習，並保守她們回程平安。
10. My mother is not recovering well from a fractured arm. May God heal her.

11. May God grant His mercy in my old parents’ financial needs, take care of them, and grant them salvation, health, peace and joy.
願神憐憫Sandy年邁父母的財務需要、看顧他們，賞賜他們救恩、健康、平安及喜樂。
12. May God watch over my brother’s family：remember their hard working and traveling, and bless their work and study.
願神看顧Sandy弟弟的家庭，記念他們的辛勤與奔波，賜福他們的工作與學業。
