Thank you for faithfully praying for us. After 4 months’ hard work, the major garden project in my parents’ summer house is done. Thanks to the Lord that we have all worked safely.

各位代禱勇士，收信平安！

感謝您忠心的代禱，經過四個月的苦工，我父母鄉間住屋的庭院工事已經大致完成。感謝主保守我們一直安全施工。

2 weeks ago, the helpers turfed the flowerbeds at the entrance. They told me that, because the turf was with very little soil, for the first few days, I had to step on each turf square so that the roots could absorb the water well and grow into the earth. I had been told never to step on the grass and now was amazed by the fact that stepping on the turf could help the newly planted grass to survive. I watered them every day and said sorry to each turf square when I stepped on them. I was wondering if I would crush them too much. And God taught me a good lesson as I was hopping on the turf like a sneaky elephant.

兩個星期前，幫工的家庭在入口處的花壇鋪上草皮。由於草皮的土層很薄，他們告訴我在頭幾天必須在每張草皮上踩一踩，才可讓根部吸收到水份並且長到地裡頭。以前我只知道不可亂踩草皮，現在卻得知踩草皮能幫助新草皮存活下來。這可真是有意思。我每天給草皮澆水，並且一邊踩著草皮、一邊跟草皮說對不起。不知道會不會踩太用力了。在我像一隻大象躡手躡腳踩在草皮上時，上帝教導我一個寶貴的功課。

Most of us came to know Jesus when we were at the deep valley of life. God’s love gave us hope and the warmth of the church members comforted us and we started attending church. But if our faith does not go further, it would be like the turf squares with very little soil. And our faith can be dry out and we would live a life like anyone who would never be saved by Jesus. The Bible emphasizes the life “in Christ” many times. Lacking of the life in Christ, our faith can be dry out for hundreds of reasons of feeling crushed. On the other hand, suffering can also be the factor for us to root our life in Christ and make us mature. Let’s root our life in Christ, not in the world and be willing to grow in sufferings. Well… what can be your elephants in life?

我們大多是在人生的低谷中認識耶穌，上帝的愛給我們希望，教會的溫暖給我們安慰，然後我們就開始到教會了。然而，如果我們的信仰僅止於此，我們就像淺土上的草皮一樣，各式各樣的原因所造成的重壓很快就使我們的靈命枯乾了，接下來的生活就跟沒經歷過救恩的人沒兩樣。這是因為我們缺乏聖經強調多次「在基督裡」的生命。反過來說，患難也可能成為我們生命紮根在基督裡的要素，使我們生命更成熟。但願我們抵擋世界的攪擾，將生命紮根在基督裡，在患難中生命更成長。那麼，你生命中有哪些大象呢？

Please be involved in our ministry through your prayers:

1. Kellen is suffering from the pain caused by dislocation of the shoulder blade. May God heal her.

2. Next week, we will visit Kellen’s mother in Taipei. May God bless us a safe journey.

3. May God grant His divine healing and protection to Kellen’s old mother and my old parents.

4. May God be in control of the process of our work permit application in PNG.

5. May God use the workshops and lectures we provide to bless churches in Taiwan.
