Shalom, dear all!
Thank you for faithfully praying for us. It was God’s grace that Douglas’ lower leg and ankle on the right was well enough for us to make the trip back to Reno last Wednesday, and we were blessed to be able to sit at the exit row on both of the two flights we had to be on, that was definitely helpful for the muscles of his very long leg.
各位代禱勇士，收信平安。
感謝你忠心地為我們禱告。 因著上帝的恩典，道格拉斯右小腿和腳踝康復到足以讓我們上週三回到里諾，我們很蒙恩能夠在搭乘的兩個航班上坐在安全門排座，對大長腿的他來說，這確實對他腿部肌肉有幫助。
I have been involved in very few preparations for church Christmas events this year, but I have had more reflection than usual years. Beside our daily devotion, what Douglas and I have been doing each evening this month is reading the scripture-related articles in the book “Advent 2022” the church issued. And God has talked to me a lot through them about many things I have asked Him recently.
今年我很少參與教會聖誕節活動的準備工作，但我比往年有更多的反思。除了每日的靈修之外，我和道格拉斯本月每晚也閱讀教會發行的《降臨節2022》一書中與經文相關的文章。神透過這些文章將我近來求問祂的一些問題一一剖析。
What have happened this year to us had not been expected at all in the beginning of the year. And getting married had drastically changed my life in ministries and relationships in all aspects. What I can do in surprise is be still and see where God is going to take me. Looking back the 58 years of my life, there were at least 11 sharp turns. If it had not been God’s lovingly kind intrusions, I could not have thought of making or dared to make any of turns. One of them was, in 1978, because of illness, to abandon what I had majored in college and the chemical engineering work that I loved very much. In the room of the hospital, being extremely frustrated and lost, I was giving by God an inspiration. It was a scene of a music conductor who was conducting a piece of symphony. So, I prayed to God that He be my conductor of life, and I believed it would be far much better than I did what I thought was good. And the dramatic intrusions God has made does make the melody of my life like JioJin Highway in northern Taiwan.
今年發生在我們身上的事情在年初是完全無法預料的。結婚極大地在事工上和各方面的關係上改變了我的生活，完全超乎我的想像。在驚訝中，我能做的就是靜下心來，看看上帝會帶我去哪裡。回顧生命的58年，至少有11個急轉彎。如果不是上帝慈愛的介入，我自己一次都不敢轉，也想不到要轉。其中之一是，在1978年，因病放棄了在學校多年的主修和非常喜歡的化學工程工作。在醫院的房間裡，我非常沮喪和失落時，上帝給了我一個感動，是一個音樂指揮家指揮交響樂的場景。所以，我向上帝祈禱，求祂成為我生活的指揮家，相信這比我做自己看為好的事要好得無比。神所做的戲劇性闖入，確實使我生命的旋律像臺灣北部的九金公路一樣。
I am not as a mature Christian as Apostle Paul who said, “everywhere and in all things, I am instructed...” But I trust that, as long as we make God the conductor of our life, He shall make the all the sharp turns in life meaningful as He himself is the Author.
我不是像使徒保羅那樣成熟的基督徒，他說：“隨事隨在我都得了秘訣…” 但我相信，只要我們讓上帝成為生命的指揮家，祂就會使生命中所有的急轉彎變得有意義，因為祂自己就是作者。

1. May God give guidance to Meni Beach Baptist Church Wewak PNG in developing the ministry of making sanitary napkins for school girls and women who newly give a birth in the hospital. (The two pastors’ wives are figuring out how to get the fabrics that are suitable, affordable, and available.)
目前兩位師母正在尋求適用、買得起並且買得到的布料。求神引導新幾內亞威瓦克濱海浸信會發展衛生巾製作的事工(用以贈送給女學生以及醫院裡剛剛生下小孩的婦女。)
2. There are 50 teachers serving in PIM schools in the remote areas in PNG. May God grant them safe journey to their home villages for annual school break and Christmas holidays, and make them give good testimonies for Christ to their families and relatives.
PIM (太島宣教事工) 有五十位老師在新幾內亞偏鄉的PIM學校服務。求神保守他們返鄉度年假及聖誕節旅途平安，並使他們在家人親戚中為基督做好見證。
3. Due to changes of international situation, PIM has problems issuing text books on Christian education for schools in PNG. May God grant Divine wisdom in reconsidering in which country to issue these books that are demanded in larger and larger amounts every year, and bless our relationship with the printers and the distributers.
由於國際情勢的改變，PIM所供應新幾內亞基督教教育的教科書，在發行上出現了問題。求神賞賜屬天的智慧讓我們可以正確決定這些每年需求量越來越大的書籍要在哪個國家印製發行，並且保守我們與印刷商及經銷公司的關係。(註：書籍由宣教士著作，由PIM出資印刷，使經銷公司可以用低廉的價格從印刷商將書籍進口到新幾內亞。)
4. PIM is working with The Education Department of PNG on a new project of providing high schools in PNG with 100,000 copies of books for Christian religious education. May God bless the funding, printing and distributing.
PIM正在與新幾內亞政府教育部合作開展一個新專案，為新幾內亞的高中提供10萬本基督教宗教教育書籍。願上帝保守該專案的募資、印刷和分發。
5. May God grant me His divine wisdom and guidance in being a good wife and new skills I have to learn to assist Douglas in PIM.
願上帝賜予Sandy屬天的智慧與指引，使我做個好妻子，並掌握我必須學習的新技能，以協助道格拉斯在PIM的服事。
6. Douglas and I will be on our way back to PNG after Christmas. May God give confidence and willingness to those who have received Level One sewing training in Ambunti PNG that they will all use what they have been trained for developing Dorcas fellowship in their churches, and they will be better prepared for receiving Level Two sewing training.
道格拉斯和我將在聖誕節後返回新幾內亞。求神將信心及願做的心賞賜給新幾內亞安布恩提接受過第一級縫紉訓練的婦女，使她們運用所學在教會推動多加團契，也好使她們更能預備好接受第二級縫紉訓練。
7. Douglas & I and Dan & Bev are all having a cold that makes us not able to sleep well for many days. May God heal us.
道格拉斯、我、丹尼爾和蓓芙琳都感冒了，有點嚴重，讓我們好幾天無法睡好。願上帝醫治我們。
8. Douglas and I are leaving Reno on December 8th, driving to Seattle and Vancouver, visiting relatives and friends. May God give us strength and bless our journey.
道格拉斯和我將於12月8日離開里諾，驅車前往西雅圖和溫哥華探親訪友。願上帝賜予我們力量，保守我們的行程。
9. May God make me a blessing to people I encounter when I am in the US, and make what I say and how I live deliver His message.
願神使用Sandy在美國期間成為周遭人的祝福，透過所說的話以及所過的生活來傳達祂的信息。
10. May God take care of my old parents, grant them salvation, health, peace and joy.
願神看顧Sandy年邁的父母，賞賜他們救恩、健康、平安及喜樂。
