Thank you for faithfully praying for us. The generator of PIM in Ambunti is reported to be working well. And Sabeth took my suggestion that she help the SSEC Church with the Dorcas Fellowship ministry.

感謝您忠心地為我們禱告。據工作人員回報，PIM在安布恩提的發電機目前運作正常。而莎白聽取建議，開始在SSEC教會的多加團契幫忙。 

Our present Level 1 class students are doing a lot greater job than the Level 1 classes last year. Most of them are confident that their works can be sold in the market. That means they are also able to teach what they have learned as well as providing financial help to their families. Five of the six students are able to manage the basic principles of using a ruler now. Thanks to God. Being able to learn something they were not familiar with at all is going to cultivate their confidence of learning more new skills.

我們目前的第一級課程學生表現比去年的第一級學生好太多了。她們大多數人有信心可以把自己的作品拿去市場販售，除了幫助生計，同時也意味她們有能力教授所學的技能。六個學生當中有五位已經能夠掌握用尺的基本原則。感謝神！她們能夠學好原先完全不熟悉的技能，這能夠培養她們學習更多新技能的信心。 

Last Thursday, I observed the Dorcas Fellowship in SSEC Church. They were doing better than what I had expected. Telling the truth, I wouldn’t be able to do what Beverlyn was doing to the women. For example, I can’t teach a sewing class without a tailor’s table or bear students who would not want to follow the teacher’s instructions. Thanks to God that she, as a local Christian, is able to be trained to help her own people in her own church. By the way, she saved up enough money and bought the scale rulers for learning pattern making earlier this week. I was touched by her smile when she saw me writing her name on those rulers.

上星期四我到SSEC教會的多加團契視察。她們進行得比我預期好很多。說真的，蓓弗琳為婦女們所做的事是我自己做不到的。譬如，沒有裁縫桌的話，我沒有辦法教縫紉課；還有，我無法忍受不想遵照指示做事的學生。感謝神！她作為一個本地基督徒，可以接受訓練，在自己的教會幫助自己的同胞。對了！這星期她存夠了錢，買了她學習打版需用地裁縫縮尺。當她看著我把她名字寫在縮尺上時，臉上綻放的笑容讓我很感動。 

I also learned something amusing in SSEC Church. A woman put the pattern on top of her fabric and was doing the tracing. I realized that she was not well following the pattern and there was a great difference between the pattern and the lines she drew on the fabric. I told her that she had to redo her work. But what she did was trying to move the pattern to agree with what she had drawn. Of course, it would not work. But she was still trying to move the pattern around and wished what she expected would had happened no matter how many times I told her that she should follow the pattern instead of wanting the pattern to follow her. Well, I’d better let Beverlyn handle her. We find it ridiculous but we could easily make the same mistake in other issues, too. We can’t expect the result of our work to turn out well when not following the principles of work, can we?
我還在SSEC教會學到一些有意思的事情。有一位姐妹把紙型放在布料上描圖。我發現她並沒有正確地按照紙型來描，她畫在布料上的線與紙型顯然有很大的差距。我告訴她，她必須重做。但是，她反倒是移動紙型到自己所畫的線上。這當然是行不通呀！但是即使我一直說她必須跟著紙型畫，而不是要紙型跟著她挪，她仍然一直想辦法把紙型挪來挪去，期盼可以達到她想要的效果。我想我還是把她交給蓓弗琳處理好了。我們會認為這很荒謬，但我們在其它議題上也很可能犯相同的錯誤。如果不遵照做事的原則，我們就不能預期好結果，不是嗎？

On Sunday morning, Douglas gave the sermon in the AOG Church in Malu where it took a 15 minutes ride in a motor canoe to reach. And I got a chance to talk to the pastor’s wife. According to her, their church was not able to continue the Dorcas Fellowship ministry with the Level 2 class because of the severe fights among the villages. And hopefully the fights would be ceased by the police in June and they would be able to continue the Dorcas Fellowship ministry. It is not easy for us to imagine the difficulties churches here can encounter. Let’s give them more support in prayers.
道格拉斯星期天在馬露的神召會講道，距離我們有15分鐘動力馬達獨木舟的航程。我也因此有機會和教會師母談談。根據她的說法，因為部落間的械鬥，她們教會難以持續第二級多加團契事工。但六月份有望因著警方的介入得以止息械鬥，屆時教會的多加事工便可以再繼續。我們很難想像這裡的教會可能面臨到的難題，讓我們多多給他們禱告的支持。

1.   PNG is facing severe fuel crisis that leads to power blackout, many flight cancelations, and other social issues. May God’s mercy dwell in PNG.
新幾內亞正面臨嚴重的燃料危機，這導致電力危機、大規模航班取消和許多其他社會問題。願上帝的憐憫臨到新幾內亞。

2.   The bank used by PIM updated their security system, and there were many problems in the process that could not be solved, now we cannot check the balance and transaction details online. PIM have to make fund transaction from the US to PNG several times a month. May God bless the fund wiring process.
PIM使用的銀行更新他們的安全系統，過程發生很多問題尚未能解決，我們也無法上網查詢餘額及交易明細。PIM每個月要從美國將數筆資金匯入新幾內亞，求神保守資金電匯的流程。

3.   May God strengthen AOG Church in Malu and cease the fights among villages.　
求神堅固馬露神召會，並止息部落間的械鬥。

4.   May God’s Spirit be with us in the sewing classes that is going to last until May 19th, prepare the heart of the students whose are coming for the next class that will start on May 22nd, and help the staff who is accepting signing up make clear communication with the potential trainees. 
正在進行的縫紉課要持續到五月19日，求神的靈與我們同在。下一班課程將在五月22日開課，求神預備學員的心，並幫助受理報名的工作人員清楚地與有意報名者溝通。

5.   May God heal Douglas’ swollen ankle.
願上帝治癒道格拉斯腫脹的腳踝。

6.   One of the sewing class trainees, Melisa, has a large boil on her leg. May God heal her.  
縫紉班其中一位學員美麗莎腿上長了一個很大的疔瘡，願上帝醫治她。

7.  May God take care of my old parents, grant them salvation, health, peace and joy.
願神看顧Sandy年邁的父母，賞賜他們救恩、健康、平安及喜樂。
