The global crisis caused by COVID-19 has not only changed everybody’s life and challenged our prior knowledge. It has also revealed our values and faith. We just a 4-day-long holiday in Taiwan. Except attending church, I stayed at home as for now it’s everybody’s responsibility not to create unnecessary burden to the medical system. There are many doctors and nurses in the world who have to work with inadequate protection. This makes me not able to sleep well. Last week I talked about awareness and the distance between awareness and panics. As I think more about it, I appreciate what the Bible says, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.--- 2 Tim 1:7”
新冠病毒造成的全球危機不只改變了每個人的生活、挑戰我們的既有認知，也顯露我們的價值觀與信念。台灣剛剛過完四天的連續假。除了去教會，我都待在家裡。我想在這個時候，每個人都有責任盡量不要增加醫療系統不必要的負擔。世界上有很多醫生及護理師必須在防護不足的狀況下工作，想到他們，我真是睡不著覺。上週我提到「警覺」以及「警覺」與「恐慌」的距離。更多默想這件事，我更多喜愛聖經所說的「因為上帝賜給我們的不是懦弱的心，而是剛強、仁愛、自律的心。」(提摩太後書二7)
Though the PNG government has shut down their border since the end of January, this week the 2nd victim of COVID-19 in PNG was confirmed. We don’t know when Kellen and I will be able to be there again. The other day, Kellen found a video on YouTube that was made by a Taiwanese TV program. This video reminds us the uncertainty when we were getting the PNG visa as well as many wonderful moments in PNG. And of course, we miss our friends there very much.
雖然新幾內亞政府已經於一月底封鎖邊境，這個星期新幾內亞有了第二個新冠肺炎案例。我們也不知道什麼時候才能再去新幾內亞。前幾天Kellen在YouTube找到了一個台灣旅遊節目的視頻。這個視頻重現了我們之前辦理新幾內亞簽證的不確定性，也讓我們回味在那裡的美好時刻。我們真是想念在新幾內亞的朋友們。
