Shalom, dear all!
Thank you for faithfully praying for us. It rained heavily all night last Friday. We are so grateful for God’s provision about time in the dry season.
代禱勇士們，收信平安：
感謝你忠心地為我們禱告。上個星期五一整夜都在下大雨。我們為上帝在旱季中的逢時供應十分感恩。

Besides that, we are used to making the most of the hours with the power on and doing something else when there is a blackout.
除此之外，我們也習慣在有電的時候充分利用時間做需要電力的事，在停電的時候做其它的事情。

It has been 10 months since Douglas injured his right ankle. After 10 months of our interceding, he finally is free from the sore though his right ankle looks larger than the one on the left.
道格拉斯右腳踝受傷已有十個月。經過大家十個月的代禱，他終於不感到痠痛了，雖然他的右腳踝還是看起來比左腳踝大。

Douglas is still working hard day and night with the preparation for the PIM USA board’s meetings on September 22nd and the beginning of November. As we will need the network working well for the meeting, we will not go back to Ambunti until next week.
道格拉斯還是日夜工作，忙著準備九月22日及十一月初的美國PIM理監事會。會議進行時，九月22日會議進行時，我們將需要網路運作正常才行，所以要等下個星期才回去安布恩提。

Please pardon me for my serious delay. I finally got to sit at the desk and did the translation for Douglas’ updates of August and September. The accountant staff of PIM, Penny, is recently relocated to Wewak. She found and killed a death adder, which is one of the most poisonous snakes, while she was trimming some roses in the garden on Sunday afternoon. When Joseph the center manager picked it up with a bush knife, I was stunned in scare though everyone else seemed to be calm. It was a baby death adder, and there must be an entire nest of them around. At night, I was still frightened and told Douglas that I couldn’t believe that there were poisonous snakes in our garden. And I forbade him from going out of the house at night. With a comforting smile, he said to me, “There was a snake even in the Garden of Eden.” That’s a good one!!! And he was right. There are also poisonous snakes in my father’s garden back home in Taiwan. Living in a country that is very different from our homeland in culture, language and environment, we could at times enlarge all the inconveniences and frustrate ourselves more than it should do, or else admit that something similar can also happen even in our homeland, and even if not, life goes on and we can always find the way round with help from God.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. --- Philippians 4:6

PIM的會計同工佩妮最近被調到威瓦克。周日下午，她在花園裡修剪一些玫瑰時，發現並殺死了一條南棘蛇，又稱死亡蛇。這是最毒的蛇類之一。當基地經理約瑟夫用開山刀挑起它時，我嚇得目瞪口呆，儘管其他人似乎都很平靜。那是一隻小小南棘蛇，附近一定有一整窩。晚上，我仍然很害怕，並告訴道格拉斯，我不敢相信我們的花園裡有毒蛇。而且我還要他晚上別出門。他帶著安慰的微笑對我說：「甚至在伊甸園裡也有一條蛇呢！說得真好！！而且他說得沒錯，在臺灣老家我父親的花園裡也有毒蛇。生活在一個在文化、語言和環境上與我們的家鄉截然不同的國家，我們有時可能會擴大所有的不便，讓自己比原本更沮喪，但是我們也可以承認即使在我們的祖國也可能發生類似的事情，即使沒有，生活還在繼續，我們總能在上帝的幫助下找到出路。

應當一無掛慮，只要凡事藉著禱告、祈求和感謝，將你們所要的告訴神。
神所賜出人意外的平安，必在基督耶穌裡保守你們的心懷意念。─腓立比書4:6

1. May God be in charge of the fuel crisis in PNG.
願上帝在新幾內亞的燃油危機中掌權。

2. May God protect all our staff in Ambunti and Wewak, and all PIM teachers who serve in remote villages.
求神保護PIM在安布恩提及威瓦克所有的工作人員，以及在偏鄉服務的所有PIM學校教師。

3. May God grant sufficient rain water during the dry season.
求神在旱季中賞賜夠用雨水。

4. We were supposed to be working in the US now, and Douglas is concentrating in preparing all the reports for the board’s meeting that is going to take place on September 22nd and another in the beginning of November. May God give him wisdom and grant us sufficient network.
我們現在原本是應該在美國工作的，九月22日和十一月初各要舉行一次理監事會議。道格拉斯正專心準備兩次會議所需的所有報告。求神賜下智慧給他，並保守我們有足夠的網路。

5. Douglas is in charge of ministries of PIM in Ambunti, Wewak and the USA, working day and night with multi-tasks. May God bless him with good health.
道格拉斯主理PIM在安布恩提、威瓦克及美國的眾多事工，身兼多職、日夜工作。求神保守他身體健康。

6. We have booked the flight to go back to Ambunti on September 25th. May God give us strength to do the shopping, packing and cleaning before we leave Wewak, and bless us with a safe journey. 我們已經訂好機位要在九月25日回安布恩提。求神賞賜給我們好體力，讓我們在離開威瓦克之前可以做好採購、打包和清理的工作；並保守我們旅途平安。

7. The Education Department of PNG is having a project with PIM, distributing 100,000 copies of religious education textbooks to high schools in all provinces in PNG. PIM is facing difficulties in finding representatives in all different areas. May God pave the way and grant His divine wisdom. 新幾內亞教育部與PIM目前有一個合作方案，發送十萬份宗教教育教科書到各省的公立中學。PIM要在各地區找代辦人員有很大困難。求神開路、賞賜智慧。

8. The application documents of my work visa had been misplaced by the government department. And the agent has resent them. May God pave our path.
Sandy 的工作簽證申請文件被政府部門弄丟了，代辦員已經重新呈交文件，求神開路。

9. Douglas is still coughing badly. May God heal him.
道格拉斯咳嗽還是很嚴重。願上帝醫治他。

10. May God grant His mercy in my old parents’ financial needs, take care of them, and grant them salvation, health, peace and joy.
願神憐憫Sandy年邁父母的財務需要、看顧他們，賞賜他們救恩、健康、平安及喜樂。
