Shalom, dear all!
Thank you for faithfully praying for us. After being away for four and a half months, we finally came back to Ambunti on Thursday, August 15th. It’s thankful that we could be brought back by the MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) plane during the severe fuel crisis in PNG.

代禱勇士們，收信平安：

感謝您忠心為我們禱告。離開四個半月後，我們終於在 8 月 15 日星期四回到安布恩提。值得感恩的是，在新幾內亞嚴重的燃油危機期間，我們還可以搭乘到MAF（宣教飛行團契）的飛機回來。 

We have been spending a lot time sorting out the nasty mess in the house caused by the termites and the mold. Staying in the highly humid area, we have to get used to it. The relative humidity this morning is 93%. This is harmful even to the industrial sewing machines that we just purchased. Therefore, besides dealing with the termite-eaten bathroom, moldy fridge, assembling the sewing machines, and catch up with piled up office work, Douglas has to spend a lot of effort facilitating the sewing class room. The constructing team of PIM are out to the villages at the moment, doing constructing work for the schools and clinics. Douglas is working with insufficient manpower.

我們花了很多時間來清理房子裡由白蟻和黴菌所造成難搞的髒亂。住在高度潮濕的地區，我們必須習慣它。今天早上的相對濕度是93%。這甚至對我們剛購買的工業縫紉機也是有害的。因此，除了處理被白蟻蛀壞的浴室、發霉的冰箱、組裝縫紉機、趕上堆積如山的辦公室工作進度之外，道格拉斯還得花費大量的精力來建置縫紉教室。 PIM的施工隊目前正深入部落，進行學校和診所需的建設工作。道格拉斯手下工作人手不足。 

Ambunti high school had been shut down for many months due to tribal fighting last year, reopened for two months earlier this year, and then having been being shut down again for four months because of fighting between the descendants of the person who exchange their land on top of the mountain for the land of the school and donated it to the school, and the descendants of the other side and now want the school land back. High school students in Ambunti and the surrounding villages are suffering from being deprived of education. And the parents lost the money they have paid.

安布恩提中學去年因為部落間的打鬥而停課好幾個月。今年初好不容易復課，但也只復課了兩個月。由於之前甲方用山上的土地交換了乙方的土地，把土地捐給學校。而乙方的後代現在為要把學校用地索回，與甲方的子孫發生打鬥，學校因此已經又停課四個月了。安布恩提以及鄰近部落的中學生遭受失學之苦，家長們所繳交費用也損失了。

The PIM elementary school in Ambunti had been disturbed, too. Some drunken men broke into the school, threatened the teachers with bush knives, and cut the water tank open. The school shut down for a month. Thankfully the community made the drunkards make a public apology and the school reopened this week.
安布恩提的PIM小學也受到干擾。有醉酒男子闖入學校，揮舞開山刀威脅老師，並砍破教師宿舍的儲水槽。學校因此停課一個月。值得慶幸的是，社區讓醉酒者公開道歉，學校本週得以復課。

As we will be leaving Ambunti at the end of September, I am going to start the sewing course on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 21st though the classroom is not ready yet, and I am having a cold. At the beginning of October, Douglas will have to go back to the USA for the board’s meeting and I have to go back to Taiwan for church commitments and medical appointments.
由於我們將於九月底再次離開安布恩提，因此，儘管教室尚未準備好，而我正在感冒，縫紉課程將於八月二十一日星期三下午開課。十月初，道格拉斯必須返回美國準備理監事會議，而我因早已答應的教會邀約即就醫需要，必須返回台灣。

1.   May God be in charge of the fuel crisis, currency policy, and economy development in PNG.
求神在新幾內亞的燃油危機、貨幣政策以及經濟發展中掌權。

2.    Mission Aviation Fellowship is facing severe shortage of manpower, aircrafts and fuel. May God has His mercy on the great aviation needs of missionaries in PNG.   
宣教飛行團契正面對人力、飛機及燃油的嚴重短缺，願上帝憐憫在新幾內亞宣教士們的大量飛行需要。

3.    May God be in charge of the issue of the land ownership of Ambunti high school.
願上帝在安布恩提中學土地所有權的議題中掌權。

4.   Due to the new banking policy of PNG, it has been taking long hours in banking work each week for PIM staff to transfer the funds and to withdraw in order to keep the ministries going. May God rule over the banking issue.  
由於新幾內亞新的銀行政策，PIM工作人員每週都要花很長時間在銀行處理資金的匯存及提領，才得以維持事工的運作。願上帝在銀行事務的難題中掌權。

5.  With multi-duties, Douglas works day and night. May God grant he good health.
道格拉斯身兼眾多職務。願上帝賞賜給他健康的身體。

6.   May God grant Douglas wisdom and strength in facilitating the sewing resource center.  
願上帝在建置縫紉資源中心事上，賞賜道格拉斯智慧與力量。

7.   May God grant us His divine guidance in purchasing the generator for South Sea Evangelical Church in Ambunti.
願上帝在我們為安布恩提南海福音教會購買發電機的事上，指引我們。

8.   May God bless our sewing class that is to start on Wednesday, August 21st. 
願上帝保守我們八月二十一日星期三開始的縫紉課程。

9.  My mother is not recovering well from a fractured arm. May God heal her.
Sandy的媽媽手臂的骨折復原狀況不佳，求神醫治她。

10. May God grant His mercy in my old parents’ financial needs, take care of them, and grant them salvation, health, peace and joy.
願神憐憫Sandy年邁父母的財務需要、看顧他們，賞賜他們救恩、健康、平安及喜樂。

11. May God watch over my brother’s family：remember their hard working and traveling, and bless their work and study.
願神看顧Sandy弟弟的家庭，記念他們的辛勤與奔波，賜福他們的工作與學業。
