Suzaku Brothers

This is a fan fiction of "The Tale of Genji." I have written this story with a focus on the interactions between family members.

The original text is "The Tale of Genji (1-4 )" commentary by Tokuhei Yamagishi. iwanami bunko, 1976.

You can read this work without knowing the original work, but I think you'll enjoy it more if you do. I will briefly write down the historical background at that time.

・It was common for aristocratic men to have several wives.

・Even after marriage, the wives lived in their parents' homes and waited for their husbands to arrive.

・As for the most beloved or worried wife, it seems that the husband lived with her at home.

・This story is based on the lunar calendar. Individual birthdays are not considered important, and everyone becomes one year older with the new year.

・People at that time each complete their coming-of-age ceremony while still in their teens, and are considered adults after that. They had short lifespans, so they started getting married and having children in their teens. They were also allowed to marry cousins, aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews.

Although I am not in favor of child marriage or incest, I kept their ages as they were in my story to honor their struggle and dedication.
