Meeting of Protestant Dissenters at Bank-Top, near Barnsley

fol. 117.  A printed notice of a meeting for the West Riding at Bank-Top, near Barnsley, 23 June 1791, Watson Scatcherd, Esq. as Chair.

 

They resolved “That application be made by the Secretary to the Trustees of Dr. Williams’s Library, in London, for leave to deposit in their Library-room, the Deeds, Registers, &c. belonging to such Protestant Dissenting Congregations in the West-Riding of this County as shall chuse to send them, and that the Secretary do report the result of such application to the several Congregations in the said Riding, and also recommend it to them to send their Deeds, &c. thither, in case the said Trustees shall consent to such application.” They also seconded the resolution from the Midlands about better communication among the districts, and they praised the efforts of the Catholics to be free of the penal statutes against them.
