William Tarn

William Tarn was the son of Joseph Tarn (1766-1837), a deacon at Union Chapel, Islington, and a founding member of the Evangelical Tract Society. He was also the business manager of the Religious Tract Society from 1810 to 1837. Tarn's sister, Maria, married Samuel Dyer, CMS missionary to China; their daughter, Maria Jane, married J. Hudson Taylor, also a missionary to China. William Tarn served as Assistant Secretary and Cashier of the RTS from 1829 to 1849.
