John Hutchins

John Hutchins (d. 1851) studied for the ministry at Stepney College. He was set apart as a BMS missionary at Bedford in February 1834, arriving in Jamaica that April, where he began working at Savannah-la-Mar and Fuller’s Field. His wife died in 1838; he died as a result of a cholera epidemic in Jamaica in 1851. See John Clarke, Memorials of the Baptist Missionaries in Jamaica (London: Yates and Alexander, 1869), 168-170.
