Weymouth, Bank Buildings Baptist Church

Weymouth, Bank Buildings Baptist Church – The Baptist church at Weymouth formed in 1813. William H. Rowe of Redruth and Bristol College was the first minister, 1813-17 (he died in 1817) (10). Thomas Flint ministered from 1817-19, hosting the Association meeting in 1819 (11). The Rev. J. Hawkins was minister, 1821-26; and James Hoby, 1826-30; S. J. Davis, 1831-36, followed by his brother, G. H. Davis, from 1837-42. Western Association met at Weymouth in 1830 for the annual meeting, probably late May. A Sunday School began in 1820 with a Mr Beddome as superintendent (15).  See Bank Buildings Baptist Church, Weymouth, Centenary, July, 1914.
