Hannah Gurney Buxton

Hannah Gurney Buxton was the sister of the Quaker social philanthropist, Elizabeth Gurney Fry. She was married to Thomas Fowell Buxton (1786-1845), founder of the Anti-Slavery Society in 1823.  A Mrs. Buxton lived at 46 Mortimer Street (also listed as having a residence at Bellfields, near Weymouth, Dorset), in Holden’s Triennial Directory for 1808, vol. 2, n.p.
