John Bain

John Bain (c. 1754-1831) pastored the Baptist meeting at Potter Street, Harlow, 1804-31.  Previously he had served as an assistant to Peter Edwards at the Baptist meeting at White’s Row, Portsmouth, 1786-93; from Portsmouth he removed to the Particular Baptist meeting at Downton, Wiltshire, where he pastored until 1803.  His sole published work was a brief History of the Church of Christ, of the Baptist denomination, in Potter’s Street, near Harlow, Essex (Bishop’s Stortford, 1819).
