Robert William Overbury

Robert William Overbury (1812-1868) studied at Stepney College c. 1830-1833, after which he co-pastored with Joseph Ivimey at Eagle Street in London for one year before assuming the pastorate in 1834, a position he retained until 1853. He later ministered at Morice Square, Devonport (1853-1856), and Salem Chapel, Morice Town, Devonport (1856-1859). He served for many years as a member of the committee of the Baptist Union and the London Baptist Board; he was also a co-founder of the Baptist Tract Society. See Baptist Magazine 33 (1841), 636.
