Calcutta Tract and Book Society

Calcutta Tract and Book Society – This Society was formed in 1825 as the publishing and distributing arm of the Religious Tract Society in India. Like the RTS, the Calcutta Society received support from several denominations. During its first year, the Society distributed over 117,000 tracts in several languages. Other societies were formed in Bombay and Madras.
