John Wheeler

John Wheeler was baptized in the Northampton church in 1798. Originally from Gloucestershire, he was working for a tallow chandler in Northampton when he was drawn to Christ by the singing of a Cowper hymn at College Lane. He was soon called to preach and in 1805 led a group from College Lane into forming a meeting at Bugbrooke, where Ryland and Fuller had often preached. His descendant was H. Wheeler Robinson.
