Jonathan Edwards, Jr.

Jonathan Edwards, Jr. (1745-1801), was the son of the famous leader of the American Great Awakening, Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758). In 1794, shortly before being dismissed from the Whitehaven Congregational Church of New Haven, Connecticut, the younger Edwards sent John Ryland, Jr., a box of religious pamphlets from America (now at Bristol Baptist College Library, shelfmark G97A). These pamphlets may have been in response to pamphlets sent to Edwards by Ryland previously. Edwards would later serve as President of Union College, New York.
