Philip Henry Cornford

Philip Henry Cornford was a student at Newport Pagnel Academy before becoming a BMS missionary in October 1840, working at Rio Bueno and Stewart Town. His wife died during their first year in Jamaica. He remarried in 1842 and began preaching at Montego Bay, where he ministered for five years.  In 1847 he moved to the Jericho church in St. Thomas-in-the-Vale. He returned to England in 1850, ministering to Baptist churches at Ramsey, Huntingdonshire, and Luton, Bedfordshire, for ten years before emigrating to New Zealand in 1860.
