William Heighton

William Heighton (c. 1752-1827) was called into the ministry under Andrew Fuller at Kettering. He had joined the church on November 30, 1777 (Kettering Church Book, f. 73). By 1784 he was beginning to exercise his gifts in preaching, having been authorized by the church to supply the small congregation at Winwick on February 29, 1784 (f. 83). He ministered to the Baptist meeting at Roade (a church in the Northampton Association) from 1786 until his death in 1827 at the age of 75. He was one of the original Northamptonshire ministers involved in the formation of the Baptist Missionary Society in 1792. See Ernest A.
