William Grant

William Grant (d. 1799), along with Joshua Marshman and Daniel Brunsdon (at that time all three were members of the Broadmead congregation in Bristol), sailed with William Ward for India in 1799. Grant had been converted by means of Latin lessons given by Joshua Marshman in Bristol. Grant’s subsequent decision to become a missionary was instrumental in Marshman’s decision to go to India. Shortly after his arrival, however, Grant died, never meeting William Carey.
