Ram Ram Bashoo [Bashu, Basu]

Bashoo (Bashu, Basu), Ram Ram, was supposedly converted by John Thomas during the latter’s first visit to India, but when Thomas returned with Carey in 1793, Bashoo, a Hindoo, was once again worshiping idols. Carey nevertheless liked him and used him as an interpreter, but eventually Bashoo, like several of the other early guides and interpreters used by Carey and Thomas, did not remain a Christian.
